Prerequisite: none/open to all levels Safety on and off the range, Principles of personal defense, Use of deadly force, Combative mind-set, situation awareness, Basic ballistics (FMJ v. HP), Elements of the “Modern Technique of the Pistol”, Elements of handgun marksmanship, Proper manipulation of semi-automatic handguns, Drawing and exhibiting handguns from holster, Balancing speed and accuracy, Elements of assessing and scanning, and Basic malfunction clearing..
INTRO TO HANDGUN OPERATION
Prerequisite: Pistol-1(a) Firearms training safety overview, 4 Basic Firearms Safety Rules, On-Guard / Combat Ready Stance, Thumbs forward grip vs Thumbs crossed grip, Importance of Chamber Checks, Three Finger Magazine Grip, Moving off the line of force, Threat assessment and area scanning, Weapon Work Space, Compressed / High Ready Position, Ammunition management and reloading techniques, Speed/Combat Reloading, Tactical Reload, Stove Pipe Malfunction Clearing, Double Feed Malfunction Clearing, Shooting in Pairs, Flash sight picture vs. Perfect sight alignment, Failure Drills, Support Hand shooting.
Pistol-II is divided into 4 basic phases (A, B, C & D). Each phase will teach students on the handgun fundamentals essentials and advanced technique needed for law enforcement and personal/home defense applications.
